Fellow members of IAAIA,
On behalf of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Airline Internal Auditors (IAAIA), I wish to extend my appreciation to all the members for the active participation and continuous support to the IAAIA. Throughout 2007, under the leadership of Mr. Sean Gaven from American Airlines, we have successfully organized the 16th IAAIA Annual Conference in Chicago and also held a workshop on Continuous Monitoring in Dubai. I wish to take this opportunity to thank the IAAIA Executive Committee who worked really hard and pull together as a team to successfully implement these events.
We are looking into an exciting year of 2008 in providing quality and value added activities for our members. Among the key activities that have been planned for are the IAAIA Annual Conference and two workshops that will be organized in Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur, which set as a scene for our members to exchange experiences so as to enhance our audit skills and knowledge.
We are please to announce that Ethiopian Airlines will proudly host the 17th IAAIA Annual Conference on November 9-12, 2008 at the beautiful Sheraton hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The theme for this coming conference is “The New Faces and Flavors of Airline Internal Auditing”. The Executive Committee is currently working very diligently in designing a conference program involving world class speakers and will capture the most current and relevant topics in the airline industry.
The IAAIA is proud to inform all the members that we will continue offering the conference at the special all inclusive rate of $995USD (includes 3 nights accommodation, meals, and evening events). Additionally, the conference will provide an added value of continuous professional education to earn CPE hours and be an effective platform to network with fellow colleagues from other airlines.
The conference venue, Addis Ababa has been found to be a safe city, convenient in terms of flight connectivity from the various point of the world and offers visa on arrival for over 70 countries. We have considered various social activities within the conference program including cultural shows and tour of interesting attractions of the vibrant and beautiful city of Addis Ababa. For those with great interest in culture, historical and natural attractions, Ethiopia has a lot to offer. So don’t miss it!
For more information about the IAAIA, the annual conference and other events, please feel free to contact myself or any of the Executive Committee members. Your suggestion and feedback is valuable to us.
I look forward to see you at the IAAIA events especially at the 17th IAAIA conference in Addis Ababa. Do log on to our IAAIA website to find latest news and developments from us!
Best Regards
Raja Azura Raja Mahayuddin
